This article outlines the process of setting up text messages for event reminders or cancellations using the supplied downloads at the bottom. These files contain the entire Comms Item, including the recipient group and basic text content to get you started.

- Use this item to send text messages manually to currently registered persons with a mobile number by entering the desired Event Instance ID (EVIID).
- Daily Automated Event Reminder Text - Schedule for Events Next Day
- This recipient group will pull all registered persons with a mobile number registered for an event occurring the next day.
- This item can be scheduled to send daily between 7am and 12pm.

- Use this item to send text messages manually to person with a mobile number currently registered for a now cancelled event, by entering the desired Event Instance ID (EVIID).
Creating a Text Reminder or Cancellation Notice Using The Attached Templates.
- Download one of the sample communications files attached to the bottom of this article. The files contain the entire Comms Item, including the recipient group and text content to get you started.
- If you don’t already have one, create a new Communications Category called Text Messages - Event Related. Set this category to the Standard Opt-Out Communications Model.
- As an Admin User, go into the Communications Text Messages Category and check the Admin Options box in the bottom right corner.
- Click the Import button and navigate to select your downloaded file and import it.
- The new Comms Item will appear at the top of the screen. Check the box next to the communications item name.
- Click Import.
- Uncheck Admin Options box at the bottom right.
- Double click the new Comms Item to review and edit the content. The event name, date and time will already be included in the content. At a minimum, be sure to update your abbreviated organization name.
- Note the limited number of characters allowed and the need to allow characters for the full event name, and date/time.

- Be sure to test all new text messages.
- For the automatic text message for all next day events, schedule the text to run on a recurring schedule, daily between 7am and 12pm.
