Calendar Filter Icons, Hover Popup & New Design Header

Overview

As an alternative to the classic drop-down list boxes for selecting location and category to filter items on the calendar, you may now take advantage of the ability to add a row of icons or other elements across the top of the calendar to perform filtering by and combination of Catregory and/or City/Location. 

The top filter icons can use any image and may be set up to instantly filter the calendar using any combination of categories and city/location without reloading the page.

For example, you may have an icon that displays all "Family" categories (Educational, Lifestyle, Social) for a specific location or all locations.

In addition to the navigation icons, you may request a hover popup for calendar programs and events.  This popup will appear for a program when the user hovers over the calendar entry, displaying the image and basic information.  Additional information is still available by clicking on the entry.

The popup can be especially useful if you only wish to display images on a small handful of entries to highlight them but would like the images for each entry to be available with a simple hover.

To Request Your Calendar Update

To request the addition of Calendar Navigation Icons for your calendar, please provide the following:

1. A square image for each of the filter icons 400px or less in size or less.
2. A display name under each filter icon.
3. Details of the city/locations and/or event categories you want to include for each icon.
4. The color scheme you want to apply to locations or categories on the calendar.
5. Any special formatting requirements for the calendar.
