Using Date Filters in Queries

Overview

When specifying dates in a query filter, it is important to understand what time of day will be assumed in your query.

Default Time of Day

When specifying a date range filter, the time of day that is assumed is 12:00 am on the day specified. For example, when specifying the month of December 2024 - the dates would be Dec 1st, 2024 to Jan 1st 2025, or more accurately stated: Midnight AM on December 1st through Midnight AM on January 1st 2024.

This can be counter-intuitive until one understands the Default Time of day is always Midnight AM unless specified otherwise.

Exceptions

There are some exceptions.  Prompts for certain inbuilt reports that specify alternative time of day - such as the CSC ADAPT report require a different time of day to be specified.
