How to Test an Email Message

Sharing Fully Operational Emails

It is always recommended to test your email message before sending or scheduling for automated use. Follow the steps below to send a test email message.

1. Ensure a test email address has been added for your Gnosis user account. See Setting Up Email Addresses for Test Messages for guidance.
2. Once your email content is complete in Gnosis Communications, click the Preview/Test button to send the test email message.

NOTE: Test emails will be linked to a random record in your database; test emails will not be linked to your personal record. Any merge fields and profile links will display data from the random record in order to confirm the correct fields and links are being used in the email content.

Sharing an Email Design Without Links to Personal Data

If you wish to share the design only with a group of people (not including any personal content), there is a relatively simple way to do this, following these steps:
 

1. In the communications item, switch to the "Website" view and copy the email design to the web:
   
   
    
2. Save the communication.
    
3. Send out this link to the people you want to be able to review the design: https://[YOUR_ORG_ID].gnosishosting.net/Portal/Communications-Item?CIIID= <-- Add the "Communication ID" for this message to the end of this link.

This will allow you to share the email design (no active links, etc.) with as many non-credentialed people as you wish.
