Kiosks may be set up to auto-start when a user first boots or logs on to the windows system on a tablet or other windows computer.
Setting Up Auto Start
To setup Auto-start for a kiosk, first, collect the following information from the login screen:
- Profile Name
- User Name
- Password
With that information to hand, perform the following steps:
- On the main menu, choose Windows | Kiosks | Kiosk Auto-Start Options
- If not already entered, enter the profile, username, and password used on the login screen. Note: The three values must be entered exactly as used on the login screen for the auto-login to work.
- Finally, click on the Kiosk Auto Start Enabled option. This will turn on the auto-start next time Gnosis starts.
Bypassing/Cancelling Auto Start
To stop Gnosis from auto-starting for a single instance, click on or touch the "Auto Starting Kiosk" message on the startup splash screen within three seconds of it appearing. This will cancel the kiosk startup and present the regular login screen for the current session.
Disabling Auto Start
With the kiosk running, switch to admin login and click on the "Close Attendance Kiosk & Disable Auto Start" button on the kiosk admin screen.
