Overview
A fundraising thermometer (1) and or donor scroll (2) can be added to a custom donation page created in Composite, displaying all gifts fitting preset criteria (as described below). Both items will include gifts entered on the donation page and in the Gnosis application as long as the gifts match the set criteria, thus providing a full total of your campaign progress.
NOTE: Before using this information to edit/create a new donation page, please ensure you are familiar with the basics of setting up a donation page described in Creating a Custom Donation Page / Contribution Page in Composite.
Adding a Fundraising Thermometer
Step 1: Prepare the desired Campaign code for tracking gifts
The fundraising thermometer will track gifts based on a combination of any of Campaign code, a date range (which will be set separately on the Composite control in a later step) and Fundraising 'Raised By Person'. This first step is to prepare the necessary Campaign code to accommodate tracking.
If you are tracking based on campaign code:
1. As an admin user, in Gnosis go to Settings > Administration > Reference Data Management > open the Campaigns listing.
2. If a new Campaign code is needed, click New at the bottom and use the guidance below:
- Enter Display Name as desired, example Annual Appeal
- Enter a shortened Alias Name with no spaces, example Annual Appeal
- In the "Flags" section check the box for Use Campaign Total in Fundraising Progress
- Click Save.
3. If the desired code is already available, check that the three items listed immediately above are accurately set. If the Alias Name currently has a space in the text, submit a request to support to remove the space.
4. Take note of the Alias Name for the desired Campaign code. You will need this text to complete the setup in Composite. Click Save & Close.
Step 2: Adding the Thermometer Control in Composite
This step is completed in Composite to physically add the thermometer control to the desired donation page. For guidance on creating a new custom donation page, first, see Creating a Custom Donation Page.
1. In Composite, open the desired donation page and select "Edit Page".
2. On the Content section of the page, place your cursor where you wish to insert the thermometer control.
3. Click and select Function...
4. In the popup, select Gnosis > Credit-Card-Contribution > CampaignStatusBar
5. In the new window, complete the following settings at a minimum:
- Campaign Alias Name - See Step 1 above (Optional)
- Date Range_End - Set end date of gifts to be included
- Date Range_Start - Set start date of gifts to be included
- Progress Bar CSS Class = Enter "progress-bar-danger" for the standard striped red bar.
- Target Amount - Enter a single whole number (no $ or decimal)
- Raised By PID - For a page dedicated to a specific fundraiser (Optional)
The items checked above with a green checkbox are optional but are typically checked on for most thermometer images.
The Raised By PID is only set when the current donation page is being created for purposes of individual fundraising. See Creating an Individual Fundraising Page for instructions.
6. Click OK to complete the setup.
7. Use the PREVIEW page feature if desired, otherwise, simply click SAVE & PUBLISH to complete your work.
Adding a Donor Scroll
1. In Composite, open the desired donation page and select "Edit Page".
2. On the Content section of the page, place your cursor where you wish to insert the donor scroll control.
3. Click and select Function...
4. In the popup, select Gnosis > Credit-Card-Contribution > ContributionsScrollingInformation
5. In the new window, complete the settings listed below:
- Campaign Alias Name (See Adding a Thermometer Step 1 above)
